Clean and shine tires

Steps

  1. 1Scrub the tires with soapy water and the brush until the suds stop turning brown. Rinse well.
  2. 2Let the tires dry completely.
  3. 3Spray tire shine onto the applicator, not the tire, and wipe it evenly over the sidewall. Keep it off the tread, the wheel and the brakes.
  4. 4Wait about 10 minutes, wipe off any extra with an old towel, and let it dry before you drive.
  • Satin or gloss

Satin looks like a new tire. Gloss is wet-look shiny. Some let you build the shine with a second coat.

  • Water or solvent

Water-based shines are gentler and fling less. Solvent-based ones last longer and shine more.

  • Spray or gel

Gel goes on with an applicator, so there's no overspray. Sprays are faster.
