Kombucha mint mule

Serves 25 minutesEasy

Method

  1. 1Gently press most of the mint with the lime juice in the bottom of two mugs.
  2. 2Fill the mugs with crushed ice.
  3. 3Pour in the kombucha, then top with a splash of sparkling water.
  4. 4Stir once and finish with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint.
  • Keep it cold

Raw kombucha keeps fermenting when it's warm, which makes it fizzier and more sour. Store it in the fridge.

  • Check the sugar

The culture eats most of the sugar, but some bottles add juice or sugar afterward. The label shows how much.

  • A trace of alcohol

Fermenting leaves a little alcohol. Kombucha sold as a soft drink has to stay under 0.5%.
