1. Slush in a minute

    1 can + 1 cup frozen fruit

Blend until smooth. Not for kids: it's still a full can of caffeine.

  2. Ice-cold, fast

Ice + water + a handful of salt

Spin the can in it for a few minutes. Colder than the fridge.

  3. Half and half

    ½ can + sparkling water

Less caffeine and sugar, in a tall glass with ice.

Frozen energy slush

Serves 25 minutesEasy

Method

  1. 1Put the mango, lime juice and ice in a blender.
  2. 2Pour in the energy drink slowly, so it doesn't foam over.
  3. 3Blend until thick and smooth, adding a splash of water if it's too stiff to move.
  4. 4Pour into two glasses and serve right away. It's still a can's worth of caffeine, so it isn't for kids.
  • Caffeine per can

It's printed on the can. They range from about a cup of coffee's worth to three times that.

  • Sugar or sugar-free

A regular can can hold as much sugar as a soda. Sugar-free versions use sweeteners instead.

  • Size matters

Bigger cans hold more caffeine. A smaller can is often plenty.
